Web Marketing
From Evrose
You can spend tens of thousands of pounds on a web site only to find no-one finds or looks at your site. Maybe you wonder where all the customers are but don’t realise your Internet shop window is actually boarded up.
You have to market your site and there are some good ways and some bad ways to try and do that. There are some inexpensive ways and some very expensive ways too. We would recommend the inexpensive route for small to medium-sized businesses to begin with.
One of the most important aspect of web marketing is to get the keywords and phrases right in your text and in your title, description, and keywords meta tags. This allows the search engines to pick up your site and display it near the top of the results when someone does a search. Choose something too popular and you’ll be so far down the list no-one will find the entry. Too obscure and no-one will search for it. Once someone browsing can see your entry, the title and description should grab their attention so they will be persuaded to click and have a closer look. Our SEO service analyses the potential keywords that fit your business and website and recommends the best one to use. If we manage the site on your behalf we will automatically implement them too. If you want to “do-it-yourself” we highly recommend the Wordtracker product.
Once you have your site with the right keywords it then has to be submitted to the search engines. In some cases they will accept automated submissions and for others the process requires manual intervention. More difficult are entries to free directories. There will be local directories that may gain you local customers, specific trade directories that may be of use, plus generic free directories. You are best not to use automated tools to submit to directories as they are likely to be picked up as spam and rejected. Read any rules and submit according to those rules, precisely to those rules. Then your submission will stand out from the rest and probably get listed faster. With directories, the best thing to do is submit and forget; pestering them is only liable to antagonise and delay the listing.
Our SEO service will submit to all the free search engines and manually submit to appropriate specialist, generic, and local directories. Note that we will not submit any site or page to directories that does not comply with their listing policies in every respect.
After that you monitor the logs, adjust the keywords, resubmit to the search engines on a regular basis to maintain your position. Our ongoing subscription service carries these tasks out for you on a monthly basis.
If you already have a website that isn't performing as well as it might, but can do the optimising yourself, we can produce a report analysing your site and its compatibility with search engines and directories.
